๐Ÿ“œ Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 2026-07-20. Please read this whole page before creating an account. It's long on purpose โ€” it says plainly what 1more24 is, what it isn't, and what you're agreeing to.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account, checking the agreement box during sign-up, or otherwise accessing or using 1more24 (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (these "Terms"). If you do not agree to every part of these Terms, do not create an account and do not use the Service. If you are creating or using an account on behalf of someone else, you represent that you have the authority to bind that person to these Terms.

2. What 1more24 Is

1more24 is a personal, self-directed twelve-step recovery workbook. It provides plain-language step guidance, private journaling, an inventory and amends builder, a daily plan/review tool, meeting and phone-call logs, goal tracking, optional step-study groups, and an automated conversational companion referred to in the Service as "the Old Timer." The Service is a self-help organizational tool. It is not therapy, not a treatment program, not a crisis line, and not a substitute for a human sponsor, a twelve-step fellowship, or licensed professional care.

3. Not Medical, Psychiatric, or Clinical Advice

Nothing in the Service โ€” including anything written by the Old Timer, anything in the step guidance or companion-reading pointers, and anything another member or group shares with you โ€” constitutes medical, psychiatric, psychological, legal, or clinical advice. Addiction, withdrawal, and co-occurring mental health conditions can be medically serious and, in some cases, life-threatening. You should consult a licensed physician or other qualified health provider before making any decision about detox, withdrawal, medication, or treatment, and before stopping or changing use of any substance. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of anything you read or receive through the Service.

4. Not a Crisis Service โ€” Emergency Situations

1more24 is not a crisis service, is not monitored in real time by any person, and cannot respond to emergencies. If you are in crisis, thinking about harming yourself or someone else, or facing a medical emergency (including dangerous withdrawal symptoms), stop using the Service and immediately call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, US) or call 911 (or your local emergency number), or go to the nearest emergency room. Any "SOS" or grounding feature inside the Service is a convenience for locating your own contacts and resources โ€” it is not a substitute for emergency services and no one is watching for or responding to it on the Service's behalf.

5. No Affiliation with Alcoholics Anonymous or Any Fellowship

1more24 is an independent, privately operated product. It is not produced, reviewed, approved, endorsed by, or affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc., Narcotics Anonymous World Services, any twelve-step fellowship, or any of their local groups, districts, or intergroups. Any resemblance to the structure of the Twelve Steps reflects that they are part of the public tradition of twelve-step recovery; all workbook text, prompts, and commentary in the Service are original and independently written, except where the Twelve Steps themselves are quoted in their traditional wording for reference.

6. The Old Timer โ€” an Automated Companion, Not a Person

The Old Timer is a software feature that generates text using an automated language model. It is not a real person, not a licensed counselor, not a certified sponsor, and not a crisis responder, regardless of how it is written or how personal it may feel. It can be wrong, can misunderstand what you write, can generate a response that is inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, or inappropriate to your situation, and has no ability to independently verify anything you tell it. It does not replace attending real meetings, working with a real human sponsor, or seeking real professional care, and you should not treat anything it says as authoritative. You are solely responsible for evaluating and deciding whether to act on anything the Old Timer or any other automated feature of the Service produces.

7. Eligibility and Your Account

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. You are responsible for providing accurate information, for keeping your password and any recovery answers confidential, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Access to the Service may be invite-based or otherwise restricted at the operator's discretion, and the operator may decline, suspend, or terminate any account for any reason, including a suspected violation of these Terms.

8. Your Content

You retain ownership of everything you write in the Service ("Your Content"). You are solely responsible for Your Content and for making sure it does not violate any law or the rights of any other person. You grant the operator only the limited technical right to store, encrypt, transmit, and process Your Content as necessary to operate the Service (for example, to display your own journal back to you, or to share the specific, limited progress fields you choose to expose to a sponsor or step-study group). The operator does not review, endorse, or claim any ownership interest in Your Content.

9. Encryption, Passwords, and the Risk of Permanent Data Loss

Your private writing is encrypted using a key derived from your password. This is a deliberate, security-first design with a real, permanent consequence: if you forget your password and cannot answer enough of your own recovery questions, your writing cannot be recovered by the operator, by any administrator, or by anyone else, under any circumstances. Optional account-recovery questions reduce โ€” but do not eliminate โ€” this risk, and only if you set them up truthfully and remember your own answers. By using the Service, you accept this risk and agree that the operator has no liability for data that becomes permanently inaccessible because of a lost password, lost recovery answers, or your own error. The operator likewise cannot restore Your Content lost to device failure, accidental deletion, or discontinuation of the Service, and encourages you to keep your own backups where the Service provides for them.

10. Step-Study Groups, Sponsors, and Shared Information

The Service lets you optionally share a limited set of progress fields (such as your display name, day count, current step, and reading or streak status) with a sponsor or a step-study group you choose to join or create. You control what you share and with whom by choosing whether to connect with another member, join a group, or enter contact details. Anything you choose to share is visible to the people in that connection or group, and the operator is not responsible for how another member uses, stores, or discloses information you voluntarily share with them outside the Service. Do not share anything with a group or connection that you would not want that person to have.

11. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; impersonate another person; harass, threaten, or endanger another member; attempt to gain unauthorized access to another account or to the systems running the Service; probe, scan, or interfere with the Service's security or availability; scrape, resell, or redistribute the Service or its content; or use an invite code or step-study group connection to contact people outside the purpose of mutual twelve-step support. The operator may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

12. Intellectual Property

The Service's software, design, original workbook text, and branding (including the 1more24 name and logo) are the property of the operator or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for Your Content, nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership right in the Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Service except to the extent applicable law gives you that right despite this restriction.

13. Third-Party and Companion Language Model Services

The Old Timer feature may rely on a language-model server the operator configures, which may run on infrastructure outside your own device. The operator makes no warranty about the availability, accuracy, or continued operation of any such server, and functionality that depends on it may be degraded, unavailable, or discontinued at any time without notice.

14. No Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY CONTENT (INCLUDING ANYTHING GENERATED BY THE OLD TIMER) WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE. YOU USE THE SERVICE, AND RELY ON ANYTHING IN IT, ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

15. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR AND ANYONE ACTING ON THE OPERATOR'S BEHALF WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, WRITING, GOODWILL, OR OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT, IF ANY, YOU PAID TO USE THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITS ON LIABILITY, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

16. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the operator of 1more24, and its officers, employees, contractors, and agents, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or relating to: (a) your access to or use of the Service; (b) Your Content; (c) your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right; (d) any information you choose to share with, or receive from, another member, sponsor, or step-study group; or (e) any decision you make or action you take (or don't take) based on anything in the Service, including anything generated by the Old Timer. The operator reserves the right to assume the exclusive defense of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with that defense.

17. Assumption of Risk

Recovery from substance use is a serious undertaking that carries inherent risk, including the risk of relapse, medical complications from withdrawal, and emotional distress from step-work such as inventory and amends. You acknowledge these risks are inherent to the underlying activity, not created by the Service, and that you are voluntarily assuming them by choosing to use a self-directed digital tool for this work rather than, or in addition to, in-person professional and fellowship support.

18. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. The operator may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for a suspected violation of these Terms. Because of the Service's encryption design, the operator generally cannot restore or export Your Content on your behalf after termination if you no longer have your password or working recovery answers. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 8โ€“9 and 14โ€“17) will survive.

19. Changes to the Service or These Terms

The operator may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. The operator may also update these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly, and continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If a change is material, the operator may require you to re-accept the Terms before continuing to use the Service.

20. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [the operator's governing jurisdiction โ€” to be specified], without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts located in that jurisdiction, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction.

21. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and the operator regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreement on the subject.

22. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to the operator at tlavallee@lpesinc.com.
